Recently Reading Redwall
Apr. 7th, 2020 04:28 pmHey, everybody! As you could see yesterday, I'm still alive and writing - just I had far too much things on my plate with my birthday and so on... One of those things that kept me was that I've recently begun reading a new thing - the Redwall series of book!
I'm still at the start of my very first book - Mariel of Redwall, recommended to me by
autobotscoutriella. So far, it is amazing; Storm's the greatest survivor out there and the way she never backs down is admirable. The people (or beasts? I think I should call them beasts) of Redwall are also amazing - be it Sister Sage or the Abbot, or the little mice...
And there are all kinds of amazing descriptions. I have not read about forests as lush and green, about beaches as salty and uninviting, about
so dark and stormy seas... But it is not an endless catalogue of describing; all places feel just as alive as the characters, wild and almighty.
I've not read about food as tasty, either! The author does not shy to show the Redwall beasts' amazing cooking skills, so we are treated to generous servings of bread, cider, fizzy drinks and so much sweets that you can feel the honey on your tongue. While it can get a bit too much sometimes (including one part which would seamlessly fit in a cookbook), usually it is not that bad.
You can expect more updates form me as I keep reading the book!
